The Hong Kong Contemporary Dance Company were warmly welcomed to Berlin as part of the cities Asian-Pacific Week celebrations, the Admirals Palast was the chosen location and in front of a sold-out house, the group performed a very special rendition of “Silver Rain”. “Silver Rain” contains excerpts created by Hong Kong’s best choreographers and guided the audience through a world of different colors’, music and dance routines reflecting traditional and modern influences. The designer Michael Michalsky was invited for the third time to StyleNite at the Tempodrom where he presented his new collection for autumn / winter 2011-12. He also introduced the premiere of “Transformers: Legacy,” and “Tron” Walt Disney’s narrative continuation of the science fiction milestone from 1982 both of which were premiered in Germany during Berlin Fashion Week. The Wannsee lake festival from August 11th to 28th 2011, treated the audience to a spectacular outdoor opera event. The Magic Flute was directed by Katharina Thalbach and the stage, which weighed in at 20 tons and the 18 metre high pyramid, were designed by Momme Röhrbein. Black Box Music were again responsible for providing this event with suitable technical installations. BBM has equipped the largest German Open Air Tour 2011 complete with sound and trucking. A total of 96 K1 and 2 Digico SD7 were used. The 16 Herbert Grönemeyer concerts, organized by Marek Lieberberg in collaboration with Dirk Becker, were attended by a total of 550,000 people. Black Box Music has invested in the second L-Acoustics K1 system, which in turn extends the rental stock in areas of light and Video. Right on time for the 2011 Open Air Season, another K1 stadium system has been added at Black Box Music, thus expanding our rental inventory to more than 700 speaker systems from L-Acoustics. These additions will equip the May to September 2011 U.S. tours of Rammstein and Sade. The system will then remain in the United States for further use. With the K1, BBM will be responsible for the sonic equipping of the Herbert Grönemeyer tour and the Hurricane and Southside festivals. Along with the K1 (more…)
After the successful one off show at Madison Square Garden, Black Box Music will be supplying the upcoming Rammstein tour in the U.S. / Canada / Mexico with light, sound and rigging. From mid-April eighteen 40″ containers will be making their way via ship to New York, filled with L-Acoustics K1, Varilite VL3500 Wash, Martin Atomic, upstaging headlights, Digidesign Profiles and DiGiCo SD7. As with their last tour, In Extremo`s musicians and technicians used the extensive services of the BBM rehearsal halls. In the course of their rehearsals, InExtremo also shot their latest video “Siehst du das Licht” at BBM. Black Box Music will also be supplying light, sound and stage equipment for their tour.
