Die Toten Hosen and Die Ärzte

The weekend from August 9th to August 11th, 2013 was packed with three great shows on the site of the disused Tempelhof airport in Berlin. „Die Toten Hosen“ started the weekend with their show on Friday, August 9th, followed by two concerts of „Die Ärzte“ on August 10th and 11th. It was the very first time that these two bands were performing at the same venue on consecutive days. On Friday, „Die Toten Hosen“ were performing for about two hours in front of an audience of 50,000 people of all generations. On Saturday and Sunday, around 45,000 people came to see the (self-proclaimed) „best band of the world“: „Die Ärzte“. On both nights of their „Ärztival“, they were playing old and new songs for about two and a half hours. The bands „Kraftklub“ and „Broilers“ were opening for „Die Toten Hosen“ on Friday in Tempelhof. Opening acts for „Die Ärzte“ were the Canadian hard rock blues band „Danko Jones“, the US punk rock band „NOFX“ and the brass band „LaBrassBanda“ from Bavaria

Black Box Music provided the entire equipment for this three- day event, including the rigging with just about 100 motors from 0,5 to 2 tons by Chainmaster and the video direction with a Panasonic AV-HS450, Folsom ImagePRO-3G HD/SDI, AJA Ki Pro Rack and a Sony HD Robotic camera BRC-Z700. The sound and lighting technology was also provided by BBM. Among others, the following equipment was being used for the sound: 28 x LA K1, 06 x LA KARA, 24 x LA K1-SB for the main PA and 24 x LA K1 and 06 x LA KARAfor the side PA. Subs and near Fill were equipped with 32 x LA SB28, 16 x LA KIVA, 02 x LA 108P. For the Delay 40 x LA K1, 12 x LA KARA and 12 x LA SB28 were being used. 12 x LA KARA completed the center and 26 x LA – RAK the amping. 02 x Digidesign Venue D-Show + Sidecar and 02 x Digidesign Venue Profile were being used at the FOH. In terms of lighting technology, the following equipment was being used: 22 x VARI*LITE VL3500 Wash FX, 74 x MAC 101, 88 x Martin MAC 2000 Wash XB, 54 x Clay Paky Sharpy, 01 x Martin MAC 700 Profile, 22 x Martin Atomic 3000 Strobe + Martin Atomic Color, 26 x 8-Lite DWE, 08 x RJ Lancelot 4000W, 04 x RJ Super Korrigan 1200 W and 26 x SGM SP-6 LED Outdoor Floodlights.
