Berlin Bombshells

This women’s team from Berlin combines sport and showmanship in the new-found discipline of Roller Derby. This full-contact sport for women was very popular in the 1930s and 1970s, and over the last 10 years is experiencing a new worldwide boom. Equipped with quad roller skates, robust protection, mouth guard and helmet, teams fight/play against each other for supremacy on an oval track, over 2 × 30 minutes halves.
Strength, speed, and a high degree of strategy and tactics is needed to capture the audience.

The Berlin Bombshells The Berlin Bombshells are a team of women between 18 and 50 years of age, who have been training together for the last three years up to 5 times a week.

The Berlin Bombshells are the Travel team of the Bear City Roller Derby League and have already met against opponents such as Stuttgart, Hamburg, London, Edinburgh, Ghent, and many more. In addition, they were also hosts of the very first German Roller Derby Championship in December 2010.

In 2011 the best Berlin Bombshells players were part of the first German team selection for the first ever Roller Derby World Championships, in Toronto, where they will compete. We wish the ladies all the best for the future.
